The birthplace of the Championship gives BMW their first win
2012 saw BMW finish as second constructor behind only Aprilia, and it was at Donington Park that the German manufacturer got their first win, not only of the season but in WorldSBK. Race 1 saw Marco Melandri do the honours for the legendary marque, as the Italian took victory in front of teammate Leon Haslam in a 1-2 the BMW factory.
